11 and every tongue(A) should confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord,[a]
to the glory(B) of God the Father.

12 So then, my dear friends,(C) just as you have always obeyed,(D) not only in my presence, but now even more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God who is working in you, enabling you both to desire and to work out His good purpose.

12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,(B) 13 for it is God who works in you(C) to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.(D)
