20 Awo Mukama n’ayogera ebigambo bino, n’agamba nti:
2 (A)“Nze Mukama Katonda wo, eyakuggya mu Misiri, mu nsi gye mwafuulibwa abaddu.
3 (B)Tobeeranga na bakatonda balala wabula Nze nzekka.
4 (C)Teweekoleranga kintu kyonna ekyole ekifaanana n’ekintu kyonna ekiri waggulu mu ggulu, oba wansi ku nsi, oba ekiri mu mazzi agali wansi w’ensi. 5 (D)Tobivuunamiranga so tobisinzanga. Kubanga, nze Mukama Katonda wo ndi Katonda wa buggya; mbonereza abaana olw’ebibi bya bakitaabwe n’ebya bajjajjaabwe okutuusa ku mulembe ogwokusatu n’ogwokuna ogw’abo abankyawa. 6 (E)Naye abo enkumi n’enkumi abanjagala era abakwata amateeka gange, mbalaga okwagala kwange okutaggwaawo.
7 (F)Tokozesanga linnya lya Mukama Katonda wo ng’olayira ebitaliimu nsa; kubanga Mukama talirema kumusalira musango ne gumusinga omuntu oyo alayirira obwereere erinnya lye.
8 (G)Olunaku lwa Ssabbiiti lujjukirenga era olutukuzenga. 9 (H)Kolanga emirimu gyo, ofaabiine mu nnaku omukaaga, 10 naye olunaku olw’omusanvu ye Ssabbiiti ya Mukama Katonda wo. Ku lunaku olwo tokolerangako mulimu gwonna; ggwe, wadde mutabani wo, wadde muwala wo, wadde omuweereza wo omusajja, oba omuweereza wo omukazi, wadde ensolo zo, wadde omugenyi ali omumwo. 11 (I)Kubanga mu nnaku omukaaga Mukama Katonda mwe yakolera eggulu n’ensi, n’ennyanja, ne byonna ebibirimu, n’awummulira ku lunaku olw’omusanvu. Mukama kyeyava awa omukisa olunaku olwa Ssabbiiti n’alutukuza.
12 (J)Kitaawo ne nnyoko obassangamu ekitiibwa, olyoke owangaale mu nsi Mukama Katonda wo gy’akuwa.
13 (K)Tottanga.
14 (L)Toyendanga.
15 (M)Tobbanga.
16 (N)Towaayirizanga muntu munno.
17 (O)Teweegombanga nnyumba ya muliraanwa wo. Teweegombanga mukazi wa muliraanwa wo, newaakubadde omuweereza we omusajja, newaakubadde omuweereza we omukazi, wadde ente ye, oba endogoyi ye, oba ekintu kyonna ekya muntu munno.”
18 (P)Awo abantu bwe baalaba okumyansa kw’eraddu, ne bawulira n’okubwatuka kw’eggulu awamu n’eddoboozi ly’akagombe, ne balaba n’olusozi nga lunyooka ne bakankana nga batidde nnyo. Ne bayimirira walako, 19 (Q)ne bagamba Musa nti, “Ggwe yogera naffe, tujja kubiwuliriza. Naye Katonda aleme kwogera naffe tuleme okufa.”
20 (R)Musa n’agamba abantu nti, “Temutya, kubanga Katonda azze kubagezesa, mumutyenga bulijjo, mulyoke muleme okwonoona.”

21 (S)Abantu ne basigala nga bayimiridde walako, naye Musa n’asembera mu kizikiza ekikwafu Katonda mwe yali. 22 (T)Mukama n’agamba Musa nti, “Bw’oti bw’oba otegeeza abaana ba Isirayiri nti, ‘Mmwe bennyini mwerabiddeko nga njogera nammwe nga nsinziira mu ggulu. 23 (U)Temwekoleranga bakatonda balala wendi; temwekoleranga bakatonda ba ffeeza oba bakatonda ba zaabu.
24 (V)“ ‘Munkolere ekyoto eky’ettaka, muweereyo okwo ssaddaaka zammwe ezookebwa, n’essaddaaka olw’emirembe, ey’endiga zo n’ente zo. Mu buli kifo mwe nnaaleeteranga erinnya lyange okuweebwa ekitiibwa, nnajjanga ne mbaweera omwo omukisa. 25 (W)Bwe munzimbiranga ekyoto eky’amayinja, temukizimbisanga mayinja mayooyoote, kubanga ekyuma bwe kirigakoonako kirigafuula agatasaanira kyoto kyange. 26 Ekyoto kyange temukizimbangako madaala, muleme okukiweebuula nga mulinnya amadaala.’ ”

The Ten Commandments(A)
20 And God spoke(B) all these words:(C)
2 “I am the Lord your God,(D) who brought you out(E) of Egypt,(F) out of the land of slavery.(G)
3 “You shall have no other gods before[a] me.(H)
4 “You shall not make for yourself an image(I) in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship(J) them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God,(K) punishing the children for the sin of the parents(L) to the third and fourth generation(M) of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand(N) generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7 “You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.(O)
8 “Remember the Sabbath(P) day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,(Q) 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath(R) to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth,(S) the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested(T) on the seventh day.(U) Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
12 “Honor your father and your mother,(V) so that you may live long(W) in the land(X) the Lord your God is giving you.
13 “You shall not murder.(Y)
14 “You shall not commit adultery.(Z)
15 “You shall not steal.(AA)
16 “You shall not give false testimony(AB) against your neighbor.(AC)
17 “You shall not covet(AD) your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”
18 When the people saw the thunder and lightning and heard the trumpet(AE) and saw the mountain in smoke,(AF) they trembled with fear.(AG) They stayed at a distance 19 and said to Moses, “Speak to us yourself and we will listen. But do not have God speak(AH) to us or we will die.”(AI)
20 Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid.(AJ) God has come to test(AK) you, so that the fear(AL) of God will be with you to keep you from sinning.”(AM)
21 The people remained at a distance, while Moses approached the thick darkness(AN) where God was.
Idols and Altars
22 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Tell the Israelites this: ‘You have seen for yourselves that I have spoken to you from heaven:(AO) 23 Do not make any gods to be alongside me;(AP) do not make for yourselves gods of silver or gods of gold.(AQ)
24 “‘Make an altar(AR) of earth for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings(AS) and fellowship offerings, your sheep and goats and your cattle. Wherever I cause my name(AT) to be honored, I will come to you and bless(AU) you. 25 If you make an altar of stones for me, do not build it with dressed stones, for you will defile it if you use a tool(AV) on it. 26 And do not go up to my altar on steps, or your private parts(AW) may be exposed.’

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
13 Thou shalt not kill.
14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15 Thou shalt not steal.
16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
18 And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.
19 And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.
21 And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.
22 And the Lord said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.
23 Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.
24 An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.
25 And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.
26 Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.
