17 (A)“Mmulaba, naye si kaakano;
mmutunuulira, naye tali kumpi.
Emmunyeenye eriva ewa Yakobo;
omufuzi alisituka ng’ava mu Isirayiri.
Alibetenta Mowaabu,
obuwanga bw’abatabani ba Seezi.
18 (B)Edomu[a] aliwangulwa;
Seyiri, omulabe we, aliwangulwa,
naye Isirayiri alyeyongera amaanyi.

17 “I see him, but not now;
I behold him, but not near.(A)
A star will come out of Jacob;(B)
a scepter will rise out of Israel.(C)
He will crush the foreheads of Moab,(D)
the skulls[a](E) of[b] all the people of Sheth.[c]
18 Edom(F) will be conquered;
Seir,(G) his enemy, will be conquered,(H)
but Israel(I) will grow strong.

37 (A)Isaaka n’addamu Esawu nti, “Laba, mmufudde mukama wo, era mmuwadde baganda be bonna babe baweereza be, era mmusabidde abe n’emmere ey’empeke wamu n’envinnyo nga bingi ddala. Kale nnaakukolera ki mwana wange?”
38 (B)Esawu n’abuuza kitaawe nti, “Tolinaawo mukisa na gumu kitange? Nange mpa omukisa, ayi kitange.” Bw’atyo Esawu n’ayimusa eddoboozi lye n’akaaba.
39 (C)Awo Isaaka kitaawe n’amuddamu nti,
“Laba, onooberanga mu nsi enkalu,
era toofunenga musulo guva waggulu mu ggulu.
40 (D)Ekitala kyo kye kinaakukuumanga,
era onooweerezanga muganda wo.
Naye bw’olimwesimattulako,
oliba weefunidde eddembe.”
