But you, Edom, will really lose everything!
    People will find even your hidden treasures!
All the people who are your friends
    will force you out of the land.
The people who are at peace with you
    will trick you and defeat you.
They eat your bread with you now.
    But they are planning a trap for you.
    And you will not notice it.”

    I will surely destroy the wise men from Edom.
    I will destroy these men of understanding from the mountains of Edom.

But how Esau will be ransacked,
    his hidden treasures pillaged!
All your allies(A) will force you to the border;
    your friends will deceive and overpower you;
those who eat your bread(B) will set a trap for you,[a]
