Obadiah 6-8

6 Oh, how completely Esau will be ransacked! His hidden treasures will be searched out and looted!
7 All your allies will push you back to your border.
Those who were at peace with you will deceive you and overpower you.
Those who eat bread with you will lay a trap for you.
There is no understanding left in Edom.[a]
8 Will I not destroy the wise men of Edom on that day, declares the Lord? Will I not take away from the mountain of Esau those who have understanding?

New International Version
6 But how Esau will be ransacked,
his hidden treasures pillaged!
7 All your allies(A) will force you to the border;
your friends will deceive and overpower you;
those who eat your bread(B) will set a trap for you,[a]
but you will not detect it.
8 “In that day,” declares the Lord,
“will I not destroy(C) the wise men of Edom,
those of understanding in the mountains of Esau?
