Obadiah 19-21

19 They will take possession of the Negeb,[a] Mount Esau, the Shephelah, and Philistia, possess the countryside of Ephraim, the countryside of Samaria, Benjamin, and Gilead.(A) 20 The exiles of this Israelite army will possess the Canaanite land as far as Zarephath,[b] and the exiles of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad will possess the cities of the Negeb. 21 And deliverers[c] will ascend Mount Zion to rule Mount Esau, and the kingship shall be the Lord’s.

- 19 Negeb: the area south of Judah and west of Edom. Gilead: east of the Jordan River.
- 20 Zarephath: a town in Phoenicia, north of Tyre; cf. 1 Kgs 17:10. Sepharad: perhaps Sardis in western Asia Minor. The later rabbis thought it was Spain.
- 21 Deliverers: the victorious Israelites who will rule over their enemies, as the ancient judges did; cf. Jgs 3:9, 15, 31; 10:1.

New International Version
19 People from the Negev will occupy
the mountains of Esau,
and people from the foothills will possess
the land of the Philistines.(A)
They will occupy the fields of Ephraim and Samaria,(B)
and Benjamin(C) will possess Gilead.
20 This company of Israelite exiles who are in Canaan
will possess the land as far as Zarephath;(D)
the exiles from Jerusalem who are in Sepharad
will possess the towns of the Negev.(E)
21 Deliverers(F) will go up on[a] Mount Zion
to govern the mountains of Esau.
And the kingdom will be the Lord’s.(G)
