30 A llefarodd Moses wrth benaethiaid llwythau meibion Israel, gan ddywedyd, Dyma’r peth a orchmynnodd yr Arglwydd. Os adduneda gŵr adduned i’r Arglwydd, neu dyngu llw, gan rwymo rhwymedigaeth ar ei enaid ei hun; na haloged ei air: gwnaed yn ôl yr hyn oll a ddêl allan o’i enau. Ac os adduneda benyw adduned i’r Arglwydd, a’i rhwymo ei hun â rhwymedigaeth yn nhŷ ei thad, yn ei hieuenctid; A chlywed o’i thad ei hadduned, a’i rhwymedigaeth yr hwn a rwymodd hi ar ei henaid, a thewi o’i thad wrthi: yna safed ei holl addunedau; a phob rhwymedigaeth a rwymodd hi ar ei henaid, a saif. Ond os ei thad a bair iddi dorri, ar y dydd y clywo efe; o’i holl addunedau, a’i rhwymedigaethau y rhai a rwymodd hi ar ei henaid, ni saif un: a maddau yr Arglwydd iddi, o achos mai ei thad a barodd iddi dorri. Ac os hi oedd yn eiddo gŵr, pan addunedodd, neu pan lefarodd o’i gwefusau beth a rwymo ei henaid hi; A chlywed o’i gŵr, a thewi wrthi y dydd y clywo: yna safed ei haddunedau; a’i rhwymedigaethau y rhai a rwymodd hi ar ei henaid, a safant. Ond os ei gŵr, ar y dydd y clywo, a bair iddi dorri; efe a ddiddyma ei hadduned yr hwn fydd arni, a thraethiad ei gwefusau yr hwn a rwymodd hi ar ei henaid: a’r Arglwydd a faddau iddi. Ond adduned y weddw, a’r ysgaredig, yr hyn oll a rwymo hi ar ei henaid, a saif arni. 10 Ond os yn nhŷ ei gŵr yr addunedodd, neu y rhwymodd hi rwymedigaeth ar ei henaid trwy lw; 11 A chlywed o’i gŵr, a thewi wrthi, heb beri iddi dorri: yna safed ei holl addunedau; a phob rhwym a rwymodd hi ar ei henaid, a saif. 12 Ond os ei gŵr gan ddiddymu a’u diddyma hwynt y dydd y clywo; ni saif dim a ddaeth allan o’i gwefusau, o’i haddunedau, ac o rwymedigaeth ei henaid: ei gŵr a’u diddymodd hwynt; a’r Arglwydd a faddau iddi. 13 Pob adduned, a phob rhwymedigaeth llw i gystuddio’r enaid, ei gŵr a’i cadarnha, a’i gŵr a’i diddyma. 14 Ac os ei gŵr gan dewi a dau wrthi o ddydd i ddydd; yna y cadarnhaodd efe ei holl addunedau, neu ei holl rwymedigaethau y rhai oedd arni: cadarnhaodd hwynt, pan dawodd wrthi, y dydd y clybu efe hwynt. 15 Ac os efe gan ddiddymu a’u diddyma hwynt wedi iddo glywed; yna efe a ddwg ei hanwiredd hi. 16 Dyma y deddfau a orchmynnodd yr Arglwydd wrth Moses, rhwng gŵr a’i wraig, a rhwng tad a’i ferch, yn ei hieuenctid yn nhŷ ei thad.

Vows

30 [a]Moses said to the heads of the tribes of Israel:(A) “This is what the Lord commands: When a man makes a vow to the Lord or takes an oath to obligate himself by a pledge, he must not break his word but must do everything he said.(B)

“When a young woman still living in her father’s household makes a vow to the Lord or obligates herself by a pledge and her father hears about her vow or pledge but says nothing to her, then all her vows and every pledge by which she obligated herself will stand.(C) But if her father forbids her(D) when he hears about it, none of her vows or the pledges by which she obligated herself will stand; the Lord will release her because her father has forbidden her.

“If she marries after she makes a vow(E) or after her lips utter a rash promise by which she obligates herself and her husband hears about it but says nothing to her, then her vows or the pledges by which she obligated herself will stand. But if her husband(F) forbids her when he hears about it, he nullifies the vow that obligates her or the rash promise by which she obligates herself, and the Lord will release her.(G)

“Any vow or obligation taken by a widow or divorced woman will be binding on her.

10 “If a woman living with her husband makes a vow or obligates herself by a pledge under oath 11 and her husband hears about it but says nothing to her and does not forbid her, then all her vows or the pledges by which she obligated herself will stand. 12 But if her husband nullifies them when he hears about them, then none of the vows or pledges that came from her lips will stand.(H) Her husband has nullified them, and the Lord will release her. 13 Her husband may confirm or nullify any vow she makes or any sworn pledge to deny herself.[b] 14 But if her husband says nothing to her about it from day to day, then he confirms all her vows or the pledges binding on her. He confirms them by saying nothing to her when he hears about them. 15 If, however, he nullifies them(I) some time after he hears about them, then he must bear the consequences of her wrongdoing.”

16 These are the regulations the Lord gave Moses concerning relationships between a man and his wife, and between a father and his young daughter still living at home.
