27 But all our men who are able to fight will cross over the river. We will fight on behalf of the Lord, as you have said that we should do.’
28 Moses gave this message to Eleazar the priest, to Joshua the son of Nun and to the leaders of the family clans. 29 He said to them, ‘The men in Reuben's tribe and in Gad's tribe must cross over the Jordan River to fight with you on behalf of the Lord. If they do that, you must give to them the land here in Gilead. When you have won power over the whole land, then this land will belong to them.

27 But your servants, every man who is armed for battle, will cross over to fight(A) before the Lord, just as our lord says.”
28 Then Moses gave orders about them(B) to Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun(C) and to the family heads of the Israelite tribes.(D) 29 He said to them, “If the Gadites and Reubenites, every man armed for battle, cross over the Jordan with you before the Lord, then when the land is subdued before you,(E) you must give them the land of Gilead as their possession.(F)
