11 ‘Not one of the men who went up from Egypt, from 20 years old and above, will see the land that I promised to give to their ancestors, that is, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, because none of them followed me wholeheartedly,[a] 12 except Jephunneh’s son Caleb, the Kenizzite, and Nun’s son Joshua. They’ve wholeheartedly followed the Lord.’
13 “The Lord’s anger had flared up against Israel so that he made them wander in the wilderness for 40 years until that whole generation, who committed evil in the eyes of the Lord, had died.

11 ‘Because they have not followed me wholeheartedly, not one of those who were twenty years old or more(A) when they came up out of Egypt(B) will see the land I promised on oath(C) to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob(D)— 12 not one except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun, for they followed the Lord wholeheartedly.’(E) 13 The Lord’s anger burned against Israel(F) and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until the whole generation of those who had done evil in his sight was gone.(G)
