^17 (A)who may go out before them and go in before them, who may lead them out and bring them in, that the congregation of the Lord may not be ^(B)like sheep which have no shepherd.”

¹⁷ Then he said, “I saw all Israel ^(A)scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. And the Lord said, ‘These have no master. Let each return to his house in peace.’ ”

^5 (A)So they were ^(B)scattered because there was no shepherd; ^(C)and they became food for all the beasts of the field when they were scattered. ⁶ My sheep ^(D)wandered through all the mountains, and on every high hill; yes, My flock was scattered over the whole face of the earth, and no one was seeking or searching for them.”

⁷ ‘Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: ⁸ “As I live,” says the Lord God, “surely because My flock became a prey, and My flock ^(E)became food for every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, nor did My shepherds search for My flock, ^(F)but the shepherds fed themselves and did not feed My flock”—

^36 (A)But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were ^[a]weary and scattered, ^(B)like sheep having no shepherd.

^34 (A)And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like ^(B)sheep not having a shepherd. So ^(C)He began to teach them many things.
