²⁹The sons of ^(A)Manasseh: of ^(B)Machir, the family of the Machirites; and Machir begot Gilead; of Gilead, the family of the Gileadites.

New International Version

²⁹The descendants of Manasseh:^(A)

through Makir,^(B) the Makirite clan (Makir was the father of Gilead^(C));

through Gilead, the Gileadite clan.

³⁹And the children of ^(A)Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead and took it, and ^[a]dispossessed the Amorites who were in it.

³⁹The descendants of Makir^(A) son of Manasseh went to Gilead,^(B) captured it and drove out the Amorites^(C) who were there.
