24 But Israel defeated[a] him in battle[b] and took possession of all his lands from Arnon to Jabbok, including the Ammonites, even though the border of the Ammonites was strong. 25 So Israel captured all of those cities, occupied[c] all the Amorite cities in Heshbon, and all its towns.[d] 26 Heshbon was the capital city of Sihon, king of the Amorites, who fought against the previous king of Moab and captured all his land from his capital city[e] to Arnon.

24 Israel, however, put him to the sword(A) and took over his land(B) from the Arnon to the Jabbok,(C) but only as far as the Ammonites,(D) because their border was fortified. 25 Israel captured all the cities of the Amorites(E) and occupied them,(F) including Heshbon(G) and all its surrounding settlements. 26 Heshbon was the city of Sihon(H) king of the Amorites,(I) who had fought against the former king of Moab(J) and had taken from him all his land as far as the Arnon.(K)
