10 Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly before the rock. He said to them, “Listen, you rebels! Should we produce water from the rock for you?” 11 Then Moses raised his hand and struck the rock with his staff twice. Out flooded water so that the community and their animals could drink.
12 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you didn’t trust me to show my holiness before the Israelites, you will not bring this assembly into the land that I am giving them.”

10 He and Aaron gathered the assembly together(A) in front of the rock and Moses said to them, “Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?”(B) 11 Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water(C) gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank.
12 But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy(D) in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them.”(E)
