Good News Translation

3 Why is the Lord taking us into that land? We will be killed in battle, and our wives and children will be captured. Wouldn't it be better to go back to Egypt?” 4 So they said to one another, “Let's choose a leader and go back to Egypt!”

5 Then Moses and Aaron bowed to the ground in front of all the people.

3 Why is the Lord bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword?(A) Our wives and children(B) will be taken as plunder.(C) Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?(D)” 4 And they said to each other, “We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.(E)”

5 Then Moses and Aaron fell facedown(F) in front of the whole Israelite assembly(G) gathered there.
