16 ‘Since the Lord wasn’t able to bring this people into the land He swore to give them,(A) He has slaughtered them in the wilderness.’(B)

17 “So now, may my Lord’s power be magnified just as You have spoken: 18 The Lord is slow to anger and rich in faithful love,(C) forgiving wrongdoing and rebellion.(D) But He will not leave the guilty unpunished,(E) bringing the consequences of the fathers’ wrongdoing on the children to the third and fourth generation.(F)

17 “Now may the Lord’s strength be displayed, just as you have declared: 18 ‘The Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion.(C) Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.’(D)
