³⁸But Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among^[a] the men who went to investigate the land, lived.

Numbers 14:38 tn The Hebrew text uses the preposition “from,” “some of”—“from those men.” The relative pronoun is added to make a smoother reading.

³⁸Of the men who went to explore the land,^(A) only Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh survived.^(B)

³⁸But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of the men that went to search the land, lived still.
