Nehemiah 2:12-14

12 Then I arose in the night, I and a few men with me; I told no one what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem; nor was there any animal with me, except the one on which I rode. 13 And I went out by night (A)through the Valley Gate to the Serpent Well and the [a]Refuse Gate, and [b]viewed the walls of Jerusalem which were (B)broken down and its gates which were burned with fire. 14 Then I went on to the (C)Fountain Gate and to the (D)King’s Pool, but there was no room for the animal under me to pass.

New International Version
12 I set out during the night with a few others. I had not told anyone what my God had put in my heart to do for Jerusalem. There were no mounts with me except the one I was riding on.
13 By night I went out through the Valley Gate(A) toward the Jackal[a] Well and the Dung Gate,(B) examining the walls(C) of Jerusalem, which had been broken down, and its gates, which had been destroyed by fire. 14 Then I moved on toward the Fountain Gate(D) and the King’s Pool,(E) but there was not enough room for my mount to get through;
