¹¹ Please, Lord, let your ear be attentive^(A) to the prayer of your servant and to that of your servants who delight to revere your name. Give your servant success today,^(B) and grant him compassion in the presence of this man.^[a](C)

At the time, I was the king’s cupbearer.^(D)

¹⁵ After I have uprooted them, I will once again have compassion^(A) on them and return each one to his inheritance and to his land.

Restoration of the Land

¹⁸ This is what the Lord says:

²⁶ then I might also reject the descendants of Jacob and of my servant David. That is, I would not take rulers from his descendants to rule over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But in fact, I will restore their fortunes^[a] and have compassion on them.”^(A)
