Where Is the Lions’ Den?^[a]

¹²Where now is the lions’ den,
    the cave where they fed their whelps,
where the lion and lioness cared for their cubs,
    with no one to disturb them?
¹³There the lion stored up
    sufficient food for his whelps
    and strangled prey for his mate.
He filled his dens with prey
    and his caves with torn flesh.

¹²The lion killed^(A) enough for his cubs
and strangled the prey for his mate,
filling his lairs^(B) with the kill
and his dens with the prey.^(C)

¹³“I am against^(D) you,”
    declares the Lord Almighty.
“I will burn up your chariots in smoke,^(E)
    and the sword^(F) will devour your young lions.
    I will leave you no prey on the earth.
The voices of your messengers
    will no longer be heard.”^(G)
