Micah 6:14-16
Revised Standard Version
14 You shall eat, but not be satisfied,
and there shall be hunger in your inward parts;
you shall put away, but not save,
and what you save I will give to the sword.
15 You shall sow, but not reap;
you shall tread olives, but not anoint yourselves with oil;
you shall tread grapes, but not drink wine.
16 For you have kept the statutes of Omri,[a]
and all the works of the house of Ahab;
and you have walked in their counsels;
that I may make you a desolation, and your[b] inhabitants a hissing;
so you shall bear the scorn of the peoples.”[c]

14 You will eat but not be satisfied;(A)
your stomach will still be empty.[a]
You will store up but save nothing,(B)
because what you save[b] I will give to the sword.
15 You will plant but not harvest;(C)
you will press olives but not use the oil,
you will crush grapes but not drink the wine.(D)
16 You have observed the statutes of Omri(E)
and all the practices of Ahab’s(F) house;
you have followed their traditions.(G)
Therefore I will give you over to ruin(H)
and your people to derision;
you will bear the scorn(I) of the nations.[c]”
