Jesus Questioned by Pilate(A)

11 Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?”

Jesus said to him, “You have said so.”

12 When He was accused by the chief priests and elders, He gave no answer. 13 Then Pilate said to Him, “Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?” 14 But He never answered him a word, so that the governor was greatly amazed.

Jesus Before Pilate(A)

15 Early in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole Sanhedrin. And they bound Jesus and took Him away and handed Him over to Pilate.

Pilate asked Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?”

He answered him, “You have said so.”

The chief priests accused Him of many things, but He answered nothing. So Pilate asked Him again, “Do You answer nothing? See how many things they testify against You.”

But Jesus still answered nothing, so that Pilate was astonished.

23 Then the whole assembly rose and led Him to Pilate. And they began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this Man perverting our nation, and forbidding us to pay taxes to Caesar, and saying that He Himself is Christ a King.”

So Pilate asked Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?”

He answered, “You truly say so.”

Then Pilate said to the chief priests and to the people, “I find no fault in this Man.”

But they insisted, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to here.”
