¹⁷ If he pays no attention to them, tell the church.^[a](A) But if he doesn’t pay attention even to the church, let him be like an unbeliever^[b] and a tax collector to you.^(B)

¹¹ But now I am writing^[a] you not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer^[b](A) who is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or verbally abusive, a drunkard^(B) or a swindler. Do not even eat with such a person.

⁵ holding to the form of godliness but denying its power.^(A) Avoid these people!^(B)

¹⁰ If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive^(A) him into your home, and don’t say, “Welcome,” to him;
