16 The Pharisees and Sadducees approached,^(A) and as a test, asked Him to show them a sign from heaven.^(B)

The Yeast of the Pharisees and Herod

¹¹ The^(A) Pharisees^(B) came out and began to argue with Him, demanding of Him a sign^(C) from heaven^(D) to test^(E) Him. ¹² But sighing deeply in His spirit,^(F) He said, “Why does this generation^(G) demand a sign? I assure you:^(H) No sign will be given to this generation!”

¹⁶ And others, as a test,^(A) were demanding of Him a sign^(B) from heaven.

¹⁸ So the Jews replied to Him, “What sign of authority will You show us for doing these things?”

³⁰ “What sign then are You going to do so we may see and believe You?” they asked. “What are You going to perform?
