Matthew 3:9-11
Christian Standard Bible
9 And don’t presume to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’(A) For I tell you that God is able to raise up children for Abraham from these stones. 10 The ax is already at the root of the trees. Therefore, every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.(B)
11 “I baptize you with[a] water for repentance,(C) but the one who is coming after me is more powerful than I. I am not worthy to remove[b] his sandals. He himself will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.(D)

9 And do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’(A) I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. 10 The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.(B)
