Matthew 27:22-23

²²Pilate asked them, “What should I do then with Jesus, who is called Messiah?”

They all answered, “Crucify Him!”^[a]^(A)

²³Then he said, “Why? What has He done wrong?”

But they kept shouting, “Crucify Him!” all the more.^(B)

²²“What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called the Messiah?”^(A) Pilate asked.

They all answered, “Crucify him!”

²³“Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate.

But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify him!”

¹⁴But you denied the Holy and Righteous One^(A) and asked to have a murderer given to you.^(B)

¹⁴You disowned the Holy^(A) and Righteous One^(B) and asked that a murderer be released to you.^(C)
