17 All the people gathered at Pilate’s house. Pilate said, “Which man do you want me to free: Barabbas,[a] or Jesus who is called the Christ?” 18 Pilate knew that they gave Jesus to him because they were jealous.
19 Pilate said these things while he was sitting on the judge’s seat. While he was sitting there, his wife sent a message to him. The message said, “Don’t do anything to that man. He is not guilty. Today I had a dream about him, and it troubled me very much.”

17 So when the crowd had gathered, Pilate asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you: Jesus Barabbas, or Jesus who is called the Messiah?”(A) 18 For he knew it was out of self-interest that they had handed Jesus over to him.
19 While Pilate was sitting on the judge’s seat,(B) his wife sent him this message: “Don’t have anything to do with that innocent(C) man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream(D) because of him.”
