⁶⁷Then they spit in his face and struck him with their fists.^(A) Others slapped him

⁶⁵Then some began to spit on Him, to blindfold Him, and to beat Him, saying, “Prophesy!”^(A) The temple police^(B) also took Him and slapped Him.

⁶⁵Then some began to spit at him; they blindfolded him, struck him with their fists, and said, “Prophesy!” And the guards took him and beat him.^(A)

¹⁹They kept hitting Him on the head with a reed and spitting on Him. Getting down on their knees,^(A) they were paying Him homage.

¹⁹Again and again they struck him on the head with a staff and spit on him. Falling on their knees, they paid homage to him.
