58 But Peter was following him from a distance, as far as the courtyard of the high priest. And he went inside and[a] was sitting with the officers to see the outcome. 59 Now the chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false testimony against Jesus in order that they could put him to death. 60 And they did not find it,[b] although[c] many false witnesses came forward. And finally two came forward

New International Version
58 But Peter followed him at a distance, right up to the courtyard of the high priest.(A) He entered and sat down with the guards(B) to see the outcome.
59 The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin(C) were looking for false evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death. 60 But they did not find any, though many false witnesses(D) came forward.
