51 One of those with Jesus reached for his sword. Striking the high priest’s slave, he cut off his ear. 52 Then Jesus said to him, “Put the sword back into its place. All those who use the sword will die by the sword. 53 Or do you think that I’m not able to ask my Father and he will send to me more than twelve battle groups[a] of angels right away?

51 With that, one of Jesus’ companions reached for his sword,(A) drew it out and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.(B)
52 “Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.(C) 53 Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?(D)
