⁴¹ “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.^(A) The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

¹³ When the devil had finished all this tempting,^(A) he left him^(B) until an opportune time.

⁴⁰ On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.”^(A)

⁴⁶ “Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.”^(A)

¹³ No temptation^[a] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful;^(A) he will not let you be tempted^[b] beyond what you can bear.^(B) But when you are tempted,^[c] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
