²⁸ For this is My blood that establishes the covenant;^[a] it is shed for many for the forgiveness of sins.^(A)

¹⁴ He gave Himself for us^(A) to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for Himself a people for His own possession,^(B) eager to do good works.

²⁸ so also the Messiah, having been offered once to bear the sins of many,^(A) will appear a second time,^(B) not to bear sin, but^[a] to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.^(C)
