8 And the foolish ones said to the wise ones, ‘Give us some of your olive oil, because our lamps are going out!’ 9 But the wise ones answered saying, “Certainly there will never be enough for us and for you! Go instead to those who sell olive oil[a] and buy some[b] for yourselves.’ 10 But while[c] they had gone away to buy it[d] the bridegroom arrived, and those who were ready went inside with him to the wedding celebration, and the door was shut.

9 “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’
10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet.(B) And the door was shut.
