Matthew 22:34-40
International Standard Version
The Greatest Commandment(A)
34 When the Pharisees heard that Jesus[a] had silenced the Sadducees, they met together in the same place. 35 One of them, an expert in the Law, tested him by asking, 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus[b] told him, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’[c] 38 This is the greatest and most important[d] commandment. 39 The second is exactly like it: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’[e] 40 All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments.”

The Greatest Commandment(A)
34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees,(B) the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law,(C) tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a](D) 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b](E) 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”(F)

26 Jesus[b] answered him, “What is written in the Law? What do you read there?”
27 He answered, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind.[c] And you must love[d] your neighbor as yourself.”[e]
28 Jesus[f] told him, “You have answered correctly. ‘Do this, and you will live.’”[g]
