41 They said unto him, He will [a]cruelly destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall deliver him the fruits in their seasons.
42 Jesus said unto them, Read ye never in the Scriptures, (A)The stone which the [b]builders refused, the same is [c]made the [d]head of the corner? [e]This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.
43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and shall be given to a nation, which shall bring forth the [f]fruits thereof.

41 “He will bring those wretches to a wretched end,”(A) they replied, “and he will rent the vineyard to other tenants,(B) who will give him his share of the crop at harvest time.”
42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures:
“‘The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;
the Lord has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes’[a]?(C)
43 “Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you(D) and given to a people who will produce its fruit.
