¹⁶They said to him, “Do you hear what they’re saying?” Yeshua replied, “Of course! Haven’t you ever read,

‘From the mouth of children and infants
you have prepared praise for yourself’?”^[a]

¹⁷With that, he left them and went outside the city to Beit-Anyah, where he spent the night.

¹⁸The next morning, on his way back to the city, he felt hungry.

¹⁶“Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him.

“Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read,

“‘From the lips of children and infants
you, Lord, have called forth your praise’^[a]?”^(A)

¹⁷And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany,^(B) where he spent the night.

¹⁸Early in the morning, as Jesus was on his way back to the city, he was hungry.
