²² But Jesus answered, “You don’t know what you’re asking. Are you able to drink the cup^[a] that I am about to drink?”^[b](A)

“We are able,” they said to Him.

³⁰ “I can do nothing on My own. I judge only as I hear, and My judgment^(A) is righteous,^(B) because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.^(C)

³⁸ For I have come down from heaven,^(A) not to do My will, but the will of Him^(B) who sent Me.

⁷ During His earthly life,^[a] He offered prayers and appeals^(A) with loud cries and tears^(B) to the One who was able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence.
