4 And gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he was inquiring of them where the [a]Christ was to be born. 5 And they said to him, “(A)In Bethlehem of Judea; for this is what has been written [b]by the prophet:

6 ‘(B)And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah,
Are by no means least among the leaders of Judah;
For out of you shall come forth a Leader
Who will (C)shepherd My people Israel.’”

    are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for out of you will come a ruler
