19 And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her, planned [a](A)to send her away secretly. 20 But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the [b]Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “(B)Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for [c]the One who has been [d]conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bear a Son; and (C)you shall call His name Jesus, for [e]He (D)will save His people from their sins.”

19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet[a] did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce(A) her quietly.
20 But after he had considered this, an angel(B) of the Lord appeared to him in a dream(C) and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,[b](D) because he will save his people from their sins.”(E)
