Jesus Before the Sanhedrin(A)

57 Those who had arrested Jesus took him to Caiaphas(B) the high priest, where the teachers of the law and the elders had assembled. 58 But Peter followed him at a distance, right up to the courtyard of the high priest.(C) He entered and sat down with the guards(D) to see the outcome.

May nagpalapit sa iya nga babayi nga suluguon sang pangulo nga pari kag nagsiling, “Indi bala kaupod ka man ni Jesus nga taga-Galilea?” 70 Pero ginpanginwala ni Pedro ini sa tanan nga tawo didto sa guwa. Siling niya, “Wala ako kahibalo kon ano ang imo ginahambal.” 71 Dayon nagkadto siya sa may puwertahan. Nakita siya sang isa naman ka suluguon nga babayi, kag nagsiling sa mga tawo didto, “Ini nga tawo kaupod man ni Jesus nga taga-Nazaret.” 72 Sa liwat ginpanginwala ini ni Pedro kag nagsiling, “Ginasumpa ko, wala ako kakilala sa tawo nga inyo ginasiling!” 73 Sa wala madugay nagpalapit kay Pedro ang mga tawo didto kag nagsiling, “Kaupod ka gid ni Jesus, kay ang imo panghambal pareho sa iya.” 74 Pero nagpanumpa gid si Pedro nga nagasiling, “Bisan mapatay pa ako, wala gid ako kakilala sa tawo nga inyo ginasiling.” Dayon nagpamalo ang manok, 75 kag nadumduman ni Pedro ang ginsiling ni Jesus sa iya, “Sa wala pa makapamalo ang manok, ipanginwala mo ako sing tatlo ka beses.” Dayon nagguwa siya kag naghilibion.

Peter Disowns Jesus(A)

69 Now Peter was sitting out in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him. “You also were with Jesus of Galilee,” she said.

70 But he denied it before them all. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said.

71 Then he went out to the gateway, where another servant girl saw him and said to the people there, “This fellow was with Jesus of Nazareth.”

72 He denied it again, with an oath: “I don’t know the man!”

73 After a little while, those standing there went up to Peter and said, “Surely you are one of them; your accent gives you away.”

74 Then he began to call down curses, and he swore to them, “I don’t know the man!”

Immediately a rooster crowed. 75 Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: “Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.”(B) And he went outside and wept bitterly.

Sa sadto gid nga oras nagpamalo ang manok. 69 Didto nakita naman siya sang suluguon nga babayi, kag nagsiling siya liwat sa mga tawo didto, “Ini nga tawo isa sang mga kaupod ni Jesus.” 70 Pero nagpanginwala naman si Pedro. Dugay-dugay nagsiling ang mga tawo didto, “Kaupod ka gid niya kay taga-Galilea ka man.” 71 Pero nagpanumpa gid si Pedro nga nagasiling, “Bisan mapatay pa ako, wala gid ako kakilala sa tawo nga inyo ginasiling.” 72 Dayon nagpamalo naman ang manok, kag nadumduman ni Pedro ang ginsiling ni Jesus sa iya, “Sa wala pa makapamalo ang manok sing makaduha, ipanginwala mo ako sing tatlo ka beses.” Kag naghilibion gid siya.

Peter Disowns Jesus(A)

66 While Peter was below in the courtyard,(B) one of the servant girls of the high priest came by. 67 When she saw Peter warming himself,(C) she looked closely at him.

“You also were with that Nazarene, Jesus,”(D) she said.

68 But he denied it. “I don’t know or understand what you’re talking about,”(E) he said, and went out into the entryway.[a]

69 When the servant girl saw him there, she said again to those standing around, “This fellow is one of them.” 70 Again he denied it.(F)

After a little while, those standing near said to Peter, “Surely you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.”(G)

71 He began to call down curses, and he swore to them, “I don’t know this man you’re talking about.”(H)

72 Immediately the rooster crowed the second time.[b] Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows twice[c] you will disown me three times.”(I) And he broke down and wept.

Ini nga sumulunod kilala sang pangulo nga pari, gani nakasulod siya sa lagwerta sang pangulo nga pari kaupod ni Jesus. 16 Pero si Pedro nabilin didto sa guwa sa may puwertahan. Karon, ato nga sumulunod nga kilala sang pangulo nga pari nagbalik didto sa guwa kag ginhambalan niya ang babayi nga nagabantay didto sa puwertahan, kag ginpasulod niya si Pedro. 17 Nagsiling ang babayi kay Pedro, “Indi bala nga ikaw isa man sa mga sumulunod sang sina nga tawo?” Nagsabat si Pedro, “Indi ah!”

18 Matugnaw sadto, gani nagdabok sang kalayo ang mga suluguon kag ang mga guwardya kag nagtindog sila sa palibot sang dabok agod magpainit-init. Nagtindog man didto si Pedro kag nagpainit-init.

12 Then the detachment of soldiers with its commander and the Jewish officials(A) arrested Jesus. They bound him 13 and brought him first to Annas, who was the father-in-law of Caiaphas,(B) the high priest that year. 14 Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jewish leaders that it would be good if one man died for the people.(C)

Peter’s First Denial(D)

15 Simon Peter and another disciple were following Jesus. Because this disciple was known to the high priest,(E) he went with Jesus into the high priest’s courtyard,(F) 16 but Peter had to wait outside at the door. The other disciple, who was known to the high priest, came back, spoke to the servant girl on duty there and brought Peter in.

17 “You aren’t one of this man’s disciples too, are you?” she asked Peter.

He replied, “I am not.”(G)

18 It was cold, and the servants and officials stood around a fire(H) they had made to keep warm. Peter also was standing with them, warming himself.(I)

14 Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.

16 But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.

17 Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Art not thou also one of this man's disciples? He saith, I am not.

18 And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.

25 Meanwhile, Simon Peter was still standing there warming himself.(B) So they asked him, “You aren’t one of his disciples too, are you?”

He denied it, saying, “I am not.”(C)

26 One of the high priest’s servants, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off,(D) challenged him, “Didn’t I see you with him in the garden?”(E) 27 Again Peter denied it, and at that moment a rooster began to crow.(F)
