Ang Labing Importante nga Sugo(A)

34 Pagkabati sang mga Pariseo nga ang mga Saduceo wala gid sing may mahimo kay Jesus, nagtipon sila liwat kag nagpalapit sa iya. 35 Isa sang mga manunudlo sang Kasuguan ang nagpamangkot kay Jesus sa pagtilaw[a] sa iya. 36 Siling niya, “Manunudlo, ano gid bala ang labing importante nga sugo sa Kasuguan?” 37 Nagsabat si Jesus sa iya, “ ‘Higugmaon mo ang Ginoo nga imo Dios sa bug-os mo nga tagipusuon, sa bug-os mo nga kalag, kag sa bug-os mo nga hunahuna.’[b] 38 Amo ini ang labing importante nga sugo sa tanan. 39 Kag ang ikaduha nga labing importante pareho man sini, ‘Higugmaon mo ang imo isigkatawo pareho sang paghigugma mo sa imo kaugalingon.’[c] 40 Ang bug-os nga Kasuguan ni Moises kag ang mga sinulatan sang mga propeta napasad sa sining duha ka sugo.”

The Greatest Commandment(A)

34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees,(B) the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law,(C) tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a](D) 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b](E) 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”(F)

25 May isa didto ka manunudlo sang Kasuguan nga nagtindog kag nagpamangkot sa pagdakop-dakop kay Jesus, “Manunudlo, ano ang akon dapat himuon agod maangkon ko ang kabuhi nga wala sing katapusan?” 26 Nagsabat si Jesus sa iya, “Ano bala ang ginasiling sang Kasuguan suno sa imo nabasahan?” 27 Nagsabat ang tawo, “Higugmaon mo ang Ginoo nga imo Dios sa bug-os mo nga tagipusuon, sa bug-os mo nga kalag, sa bug-os mo nga kusog, kag sa bug-os mo nga hunahuna.[a] Kag higugmaon mo ang imo kapareho pareho sang paghigugma mo sa imo kaugalingon.”[b] 28 Nagsiling si Jesus sa iya, “Husto gid ang imo sabat. Himua ina agod may kabuhi ka nga wala sing katapusan.”

25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”(B)

26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”

27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’[a];(C) and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b](D)

28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”(E)
