Mark 7:4-6

4 and when they come from the marketplace, except they [a]bathe themselves, they eat not; and many other things there are, which they have received to hold, [b]washings of cups, and pots, and brasen vessels[c].) 5 And the Pharisees and the scribes ask him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with [d]defiled hands? 6 And he said unto them, Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written,
[e]This people honoreth me with their lips,
But their heart is far from me.

4 When they come from the marketplace they do not eat unless they wash. And they observe many other traditions, such as the washing of cups, pitchers and kettles.[a])(A)
5 So the Pharisees and teachers of the law asked Jesus, “Why don’t your disciples live according to the tradition of the elders(B) instead of eating their food with defiled hands?”
6 He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written:
“‘These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
