8 For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.(A) There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines.[a] These are the beginning(B) of birth pains.(C)

9 “But you, be on your guard! They will hand you over to sanhedrins,[b](D) and you will be flogged(E) in the synagogues.(F) You will stand before governors and kings(G) because of Me,(H) as a witness(I) to them.(J) 10 And the good news[c](K) must first be proclaimed to all nations.
