11 (A)So Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the Temple: and when he had looked about on all things, and now it was evening, he went forth unto Bethany with the twelve.
12 (B)And on the morrow when they were come out from Bethany, he was hungry.
13 [a]And seeing a fig tree afar off, that had leaves, he went to see if he might find anything thereon: but when he came unto it, he found nothing but leaves: for the time of figs was not yet.

11 Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple courts. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.(A)

12 The next day as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. 13 Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs.(E)
