³⁹ When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet,^(A) he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is—that she is a sinner.”

¹⁹ “What things?” he asked.

“About Jesus of Nazareth,”^(A) they replied. “He was a prophet,^(B) powerful in word and deed before God and all the people.

¹¹ The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet^(A) from Nazareth in Galilee.”

¹⁴ After the people saw the sign^(A) Jesus performed, they began to say, “Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.”^(B)
