⁸But^[a] he knew^[b] their thoughts,^[c] and said to the man who had the withered hand, “Get up and stand here.”^[d] So^[e] he rose and stood there. ⁹Then^[f] Jesus said to them, “I ask you,^[g] is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do evil, to save a life or to destroy it?” ¹⁰After^[h] looking around^[i] at them all, he said to the man,^[j] “Stretch out your hand.” The man^[k] did so, and his hand was restored.^[l]
