²⁸And he got up and followed him, leaving everything^[a] behind.^[b]

²⁹Then^[c] Levi gave a great banquet^[d] in his house for Jesus,^[e] and there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others sitting^[f] at the table with them. ³⁰But^[g] the Pharisees^[h] and their experts in the law^[i] complained^[j] to his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”^[k]
