¹² Peter,^(A) however, got up and ran to the tomb. When he stooped to look in, he saw only the linen cloths.^[a](B) So he went home, amazed^(C) at what had happened.

⁴⁰ Then they took Jesus’ body^(A) and wrapped it in linen cloths^(B) with the aromatic spices, according to the burial^(C) custom of the Jews.

⁵ Stooping down, he saw the linen cloths^(A) lying there, yet he did not go in. ⁶ Then, following him, Simon Peter came also. He entered the tomb and saw the linen cloths lying there. ⁷ The wrapping^(B) that had been on His head was not lying with the linen cloths^(C) but was folded up in a separate place by itself.
