God and Caesar

²⁰ They^[a](A) watched closely^(B) and sent spies^(C) who pretended to be righteous,^[b] so they could catch Him in what He said,^[c](D) to hand Him^(E) over to the governor’s^(F) rule and authority.

¹⁰ This is so God’s multi-faceted wisdom^(A) may now be made known through the church to the rulers and authorities in the heavens.^(B)

¹⁵ He disarmed the rulers and authorities and disgraced them publicly; He triumphed over them by Him.^[a](A)
