³⁹ The people in front rebuked him and ordered him to be silent, but he only shouted all the louder, “Son of David, have pity on me!”

⁴⁰ Jesus stopped and ordered that the man be brought to him. And when he had come near, Jesus asked him, ⁴¹ “What do you want me to do for you?” He answered, “Lord, let me receive my sight.”
