Luke 24:19-21
International Standard Version
19 He asked them, “What things?”
They answered him, “The events involving Jesus of Nazareth,[a] who was a prophet, mighty in what he said and did before God and all the people, 20 and how our high priests and leaders handed him over to be condemned to death and had him crucified. 21 But we kept hoping that he would be the one to redeem[b] Israel. What is more, this is now the third day since these things occurred.

“About Jesus of Nazareth,”(A) they replied. “He was a prophet,(B) powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. 20 The chief priests and our rulers(C) handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him; 21 but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel.(D) And what is more, it is the third day(E) since all this took place.
